The smiley face cane was one of the first canes I did after the simple jelly roll. I played around with many designs and settled on this one, taught in the video below. It’s simple, easy to do, and hard to mess up.
Feel free to create this clay cane using any colors, and even add your own features like pupils, hair or nose.

I first came up with this in high school when I made it as a birthday present for my younger sister. This is a fun beginner project and makes a wonderful handmade gift.

- Premo Sculpey or other polymer clay
- Rolling pin or Pasta machine to condition your clay and create your sheets
- Super Slicer blade to cut your cane
- Saran Wrap to protect your cane while stored
- Bic Round Stic Pens (Personally recommended for use with clay)
